How to Install Google Play on Redmi China Phones

Xiaomi (and Redmi) have listened to their users. It was relatively easy to get Google Play and any other Gapps on Chinese Redmi phones.

It is not the case now.

The company managed to insert essential Google Services and Framework to run Gapps. Play Store is also planted there but not activated just yet.

Follow these steps below to enable Google Play on your device. This method does not need you to root or to unlock the bootloader of your phone.

Step 1 – Launch up Settings > System apps > Google Services > then toggle on the Google Services.

Step 2 – Next, the Google login screen shall appear. Sign in using your Google account (Gmail) and password.

Step 3 – Tap the Agree button then Accept.

Step 4 – The system, MIUI, will start downloading Google Play and install it automatically. The process won’t start? Download the APK file from one of above links. We’ll explain how to install it in the next section.

Step 5 – Launch Google Play by tapping on its icon on the homescreen.

An additional and optional step. You can check for Play Protect Certification status by going to the Google Play app.

Tap the three bars icon at the top > choose Settings > Play Protect certification. Your device should be now certified.
