Customizing MIUI Theme

This trick does not even require you to unlock bootloader neither to root your phone. It’s super easy and totally safe.

Step 1 – Open up the default Themes app (a.k.a. Themes Store or Themes Manager).

Step 2 – Download two or three themes captivating you the most. For instance: Black Panther, OSF9, and Rose Summer. Essentially you just need to pick 2 or 3 themes from the store.

Step 3 – Go to My Page then choose Customize Theme.

Step 4 – There you can see six areas of customization: Lock style, Status Bar, Icons, Messaging, Dial pad, and Favorites tray. Now go with the Lock style at first.

Step 5 – Choose the style of theme’s lockscreen you wish to use. As of an example, we use a lockscreen of Black Panther. Tap on it then hit the Apply button. The Applied Successfully message shall appear.

Step 6 – Go back twice then choose Status Bar now.

Step 7 – Pick the style of theme’s status bar of your choice. We use the one from Rose Summer. We love it for its simple transparent design. Tap on it then hit the Apply button. The Applied Successfully message shall appear.

Step 8 – Again, go back twice but this time choose Icons.

Step 9 – Choose the style of icons fetched from installed themes. As of example, we use the one from OSF9. Tap the green Apply button.

Step 10 – Again, go back twice but this time choose Messaging.

Step 11 – Decide which kind of style should be applied to the stock Message app. We use the one from Rose Summer. Tap the green Apply button.

Step 12 – Again, go back twice but this time choose Dial pad.

Step 13 – Choose the style for your current Dial pad. We use the one coming with Rose Summer theme. Tap the green Apply button.

Step 14 – Again, go back twice but this time choose Favourites Tray. It is the widgets layout style of your homescreen.

Step 15 – Choose one from all displayed styles. OSF9’s is the one we choose as an example. Tap the green Apply button.

Step 16 – Now, go back twice and this time choose Back up Theme at the bottom. This will create a backup of your current theme mix and match settings.

Step 17 – As a final touch, go to the Wallpaper area and search for any suitable background image. Use your feeling to match the picture with your current theme style.

Enjoy!
